Goodbye CAPTCHA, Hello AI

Artificial Intelligence advancing and causing CAPTCHA to become obsolete is the topic on this episode of The AI Minute. For more on Artificial Intelligence: https://voicesinai.com https://gigaom.com https://byronreese.com https://ift.tt/31WftGA... Transcript: Everyone's familiar with text based CAPTCHA. The phrases you have to type in to prove you're not a robot. It's an acronym that stands for “completely automated Turing test to tell computers and humans apart.” Expect to see far fewer of them in the future for two reasons. The first is that artificial intelligence has advanced to the point where it can actually make out many of the CAPTCHAs, defeating the purpose of the test entirely. But the second one, the bigger one, the reason, for instance, Google no longer uses them, is because artificial intelligence is knowable to tell humans and bots apart by their actions and how they interact with sites. Therefore we're able to detect bots equally as efficiently as CAPTCHA could do back in the day without any interruption of the user. https://ift.tt/2GsLc94 gigaomhttp://ifttt.com/images/no_image_card.pngJuly 23, 2019 at 06:34PM https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
